Forge Fedriga and its environmental policy reaffirms the importance of informing and sharing environmental topics with stakeholders. For this reason Forge Fedriga carry on the Green Magazine publishing the 5th number.
ENVIRONMENTAL UNIQUE AUTHORIZATION (AUA)
The Environmental Unique Authorization practice (D.P.R. n°59 dated 13/03/2013) results been opened by the proper authority through the “Sportello Unico per le attività produttive”(SUAP) of the Comunità Montana of Valle Camonica (local body).
The drain authorization into the public sewer, the drain authorization into the near Oglio river and the atmosphere emission authorization are the environmental aspects that Forge Fedriga has gathered into the AUA practice.
With this procedure, the Public Body wields a monitor on the most important environmental impacts of the productive activities granting the observance of the law through a continuous monitor carrying out samplings and water /emissions chemical analysis.
THE EQUA SRL HYDROELECTRIC SYSTEM BY THE SIDE OF THE OGLIO RIVER
At the end of 2015, Forge Fedriga was contacted by EQUA company, holder of the concession n° 3808 dated 19/06/2014 and issued by the province of Brescia to divert water from the Oglio river and build an Hydroelectric system (3 meters waterfall, derivable average capacity 11.500 liters/seconds – nominal capacity 338,24 Kw -2.155.540 Kwh annual production).
The works granted to the Society EQUA Srl have been declared “ urgent works of public utilization that can’t be put off”. The water branch channel in the Oglio river that will take water to the turbines shall occupy a small part of Forge Fedriga ownership and it is currently in progress the definition of the necessary agreements.
This work has a great environmental value because it is going to produce clean energy starting from renewable sources in accordance with the aims of Kyoto protocol that foresees the reduction of those emissions responsible of the greenhouse effect.
Recent studies demonstrates that the energy field based on the use of hydrocarbons is responsible in average of 70% of the negative effects on the outside environment, as well as cause of evident climate changes and heavy pollutions that threaten the human health.
LED LIGHTING: POSITIVE RESULTS AFTER A YEAR
The LED Lighting system installed at the end of 2014, allows interesting evaluations on the real energy saving after being put into service for a year.
A consumption survey has given the following results:
• Total saving obtained: 88.399 Kwh
• Reduction of Total CO2 emissions: 35.031 Kg
• Real savings on baseline: 59%
ENERGY DIAGNOSIS -2016 AIM
The Legislative Decree 102/2014 approved on the 20th July 2014 give force to the European rules of the Directive n° 27 on the energy efficiency and has introduced the obligation of performing a company energy diagnosis for all companies that have almost one of the following requirements: more than 250 employees, total turnover over 50 million of euro, annual budget over 43 million of euro.
The same conditions have to be applied for all companies with an high energy consumption regardless the number of employees and the turn over.
Forge Fedriga has voluntarily planned to hold an energy audit among the environmental aims of 2016.
First of all, Forge Fedriga will carry out a census of its equipment necessary for the process together with an evaluation of the specific production system adopted.
Then it will follow a careful analysis of Forge Fedriga premises of Cividate Camuno, the electrical installation, the air heating system, offices and storage rooms.
At the end, it will be also necessary to perform the analysis of Forge Fedriga inner transports in order to get an updated consumption baseline.
What we expect from this diagnosis is to spot, classify and measure any energy inefficiency in our company and propose targeted improvement actions and interventions able to reduce such inefficiencies.
